The 5th Annual Uganda Sickle Cell Convention aims to bring comprehensive healthcare discussions to the forefront. Experts will be presenting new treatments and discussing mental health resilience for sickle cell warriors and their caregivers.

This year's theme, "Building Sustainable Sickle Cell Support Systems Using a Multisectoral Approach," reflects our belief that lasting progress against sickle cell disease requires collaboration across healthcare providers, government, researchers, and community organizations working together.

Why This Matters

Since RHIF's founding in 2016, our community screening drives have reached over 5,400 individuals, registering 900 confirmed sickle cell patients and identifying 595 sickle cell trait carriers who now have access to counseling and care. Past events, including our 2020 sickle cell marathon in Jinja City and community walks in Buyende District, have helped connect warriors directly to the hospitals and clinics that provide ongoing sickle cell services.

This convention builds on that track record, bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and the sickle cell community for a day of education, advocacy, and connection.
